Subject: 'New York Times' Removes Paywall for Videos
In an attempt to beef up its online video viewership, The New York Times announced Tuesday that its videos are now available in full for free to everyone, including those without a subscription to the newspaper or its digital editions. No matter the subscription you have (or don't have), you'll be able to watch as many videos as you like on the Times' website, mobile website and mobile applications. Views will not count as part of the 10-article per month limit imposed on non-subscribers. Acura and Microsoft have signed on as sponsors to make the videos available beyond the paywall. The video portals include primarily on-demand video, organized by current events — there's a section for the Boston Marathon bombings, for example — as well as by the paper's traditional verticals, including U.S., Business and Style. |
